If I have to name one game that can be played both indoor and outdoors and offers great levels of excitement then it would be – badminton. This is a game that requires, special sports shoes, right gear, shuttle cock and most importantly a racket. Most of the times, people don’t give much importance to choosing a right racket but the significance of a racket cannot be denied in the game. These rackets come in varied sizes, weights and shapes. It is very important that you consider your playing style while choosing a racket. There are different playing styles and the rackets should be purchased as per the player’s playing style. Let us discuss important tips for choosing a right racket –

1. Make a choice for isometric and conventional oval shape. If you choose isometric shape then it will offer you more control to hit the shuttlecock hard. The oval shape is mainly preferred by the pros, they usually don’t hit the shuttlecock so hard.

2. The racket and the strings should have the right flexibility. When a racket is stiffer and the strings are tighter, it will help in transferring more power to the shuttlecock. If you are a light hitter then the string tension should be around 24 pounds and power hitter should look for 25 pounds.

3. The grip of the racket is probably one of the key things that matters while choosing a racket. Large grips help you to hold the racket tighter and smaller grips permits more flexibility.

So, keep the above discussed tips in mind while choosing a badminton racket.
