There are different types of games which are played around the world. Out of these games, handball is a game which demands physical fitness, agility and dedication. This game is referred by different names such as – European handball, Team handball and Olympic handball. This game is mainly played indoors but its outdoor forms can also be witnessed.

In this game, two teams are involved, having 7 players each. Both teams have to throw the ball in the opposite team’s goal, this is how the scoring is made. Following the 2 plays, having 30 minutes each, the final scores of the teams are reviewed in order to declare the winner. Like we discussed earlier that the game requires agility and swiftness, one of the noticeable things during the game is that the actual body contact between the players is allowed. But, it does come with certain guidelines and restrictions. Contacts made from the side or back are allowed.

It has been noticed that most of the times, the teams have been found to score over 20 goals, sometimes it has touched the 30 mark as well. Initially, the scoring was an issue and the scoring was pretty much the same as we see in the ice hockey matches. In 80s, the offensive style of playing underwent a considerable change and this gave a boost to the scoring. The game that is currently being played, around the world, was created by a gym teacher from Denmark in the 19th century. He was responsible for framing the rules of the game which were published in 1906.

Without a doubt, handball is a game that beguiles both the players and the viewers.
